The Arctic is a destination a wide variety of travellers, from photographers, scientists to adventurers ticking off a bucket list item. When you hop on one of the sailing cruises in the Arctic you’re guaranteed to have a once in a lifetime experience.

Arctic Wildlife

The highlight of Arctic sailing cruises is the awesome Arctic wildlife. There are over 35 mammals that call the Arctic home, the remarkable wildlife manages to survive in possibly the most challenging environment on the planet. When you’re on the water you will be able to look out for whales, seals, narwhals and much more. On the land you might be lucky enough to see reindeer, caribou, fox and much more.

The History

The Arctic is where legends have been made and has a wealth of historical sites. Other sites include; whaling cabins and expedition base camps. If you make your way to Ellesmere Island you can take a helicopter ride over a stunning ancient forests, then in Greenland you can see surviving Inuit cultures, there are 6 in total. You can also follow in the footsteps of legendary arctic explorers such as Robert Perry and Ranulph Fiennes.

An Adventure In 10 Days

Many years ago, heading off on an Arctic expedition was a real commitment because you would be away for a few years and there was no guarantee you’d make it back. We’re spoilt these days because we can have a life changing adventure and only have to take 10 days off work. There are 10 day packages available known as ‘fly-cruise’ holidays – they save time by flying passengers in to where the cruise will start and finish, I think it’s a great option for any of us that can’t take huge amounts of time off work. 10 days for the holiday of a lifetime is an opportunity we shouldn’t miss out on!
