Here’s Where to Go for a Weekend Break in 2017

 

You work hard Monday to Friday and most of your weekends are for catching up on errands.  Try to do your errands during the week or postpone them so you can take some fabulous weekend breaks in 2017.  A weekend break will rejuvenate you and leave you relaxed to return to work with a better sense of what your priorities are.  These are five places you should go for your weekend break.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is in southwestern France and it is an area known for its wine.  The city sits on the banks of the Garonne River and the river bank is lined with lovely parks that you can stroll through.  Make sure you visit the Gothic Cathédrale Saint-André before heading off to one of the many wine bars to sample the wonderful wine.

Budapest

Budapest sits on the banks of the Danube River in Hungary.  The city is known for its public bathhouses and it is something that you must try at least once.  The Széchenyi Baths are fed by natural hot springs and the building looks like a palace.  There are over two hundred museums and art galleries for you to wander through at your leisure.  For dinner you can sign up for a cooking lesson and learn how to cook authentic Hungarian cuisine.  You get to sample what you make as well.

Barcelona

Barcelona is a wonderful city that also happens to have one of the best beaches in Europe.  Spend your time wandering past the beautiful architecture of Antoni Gaudi, stroll through the beautiful parks and spend several hours at the Museu Picasso.  Watch the sunset on the beach before heading out to the wonderful nightlife that this vibrant city has to offer. Paris

Paris is a fabulous city to spend a weekend in; there is so much to do! The Eiffel Tower should be your first stop.  Take the elevator to the third floor observation deck so you can see the layout of this beautiful city from a bird’s eye view.  Head over to Champs Elysees and take a stroll through all of the high-end stores.  Visit the Louvre and the Musée Rodin to view some fabulous art and sculptures. Stop at a bakery and pick up a fresh baguette for Sunday morning breakfast and indulge yourself in fresh pasties and fabulous coffee.  Spend your Sunday strolling through Montmartre and take the cable car to the Basilique du Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre.  Stop in at Moulin Rouge for a drink and catch a show.

London

London is a fabulous city for walking away the worries of your workweek.  You can take guided tours that you will show you fabulous sites like where the Beatles used to hang out, Jack the Ripper Tours, areas where Harry Potter was filmed, the best places to eat and many more.  Make sure you take a stroll down New Bond Street and see the high-end stores in this wealthy area.  Don’t forget to take a tour of the Tower of London to learn the fascinating history and see the Crown Jewels and other museum pieces.  Take a stroll in St. James Park to catch a glimpse of Buckingham Palace before heading out for a fabulous meal at one of the many high-end restaurants.
