The Best Places To Be On St Patrick’s Day

St Patrick’s Day is a day that nearly everyone I know celebrates. It’s amazing that most of my English buddies will have a pint of Guinness with me on St Patrick’s Day, but if I ask them which date St George’s Day falls on they will have no idea! You’ll see grown men and women strolling, sometimes stumbling, through the streets dressed in green and all sorts of contraptions on their heads.

It’s definitely one of the happiest days of the year – if you love a party then it’s the perfect day to hit the down and celebrates Ireland’s patron saint. I mean, why wouldn’t you go out all night to celebrate a man that drove all of the snakes from Ireland’s shores?

The difficulty is not finding a party on this famous day, but rather trying to find the best possible place to party because there are so many options. You can be in some remote city and if they have an Irish bar you can be sure to find it swinging. After doing some considerable research first hand, I think have found 3 of the best places to enjoy the day where everyone is Irish!

Dublin, Ireland

How can the capital city of Ireland not make the top of this list? It simply is the best place to party away all night long. The famous Temple Bar area is teeming with people, both locals and tourists, the Guiness is always flowing at anytime of year. They do say that a pint of Guinness is not the same if it’s not in Ireland, so it makes sense that you’re close to the original brewery when discovering your inner Irish self!

The Cheltenham Festival, UK

I must confess that this isn’t on March 17 which is St Patrick’s Day. The reason for the festival being on the list is because they have a St Patrick’s Thursday race day. Here you will be able to watch some of the best horse racing in the world and enjoy the special events that are taking place around the course. The Irish are a strong presence in the world of horse racing, so you can guarantee they’ll be having a good warm up before the real day two days later. If you’re looking for more information then simply hop online to check updates and bet on St Patrick’s Thursday today.

Boston, USA

Outside of Dublin I think Boston is the most famous place for St Patrick’s Day, and trust me when I say that these guys go BIG! There’s a huge parade to celebrate and they even turn part of the river green! Boston has a huge Irish contingent and they wear it with real pride. So if you’re in the USA make sure you’re in Boston when March 17 hits for a day to remember.

What do you think of the three places above? Have you enjoyed St Patricks Day at one or any of them?
