Greece is by far one of the best places in the world for a holiday. I have lost count of how many times I have visited this amazing country. Each and every time I go back I find myself falling more in love with the place!

The Food
Everyone loves tucking in to the local cuisine when they travel, it’s one of my favourite things. That’s why Greece is a food lover’s heaven! If you’re a vegan or vegetarian then you don’t need to worry because there’s plenty of grains, beans and of course vegetables on the menu. I’m a carnivore myself, so my favourite dishes are always the roast lamb with veg and the Greek gyro. The wine is also absolutely amazing! For desert it’s straight to the baklava, easily the best cake that you will ever eat in your entire life. Eat as much as you can because when you get on the plane home you’ll already be missing the food.
The Beaches
Whenever you see a list of the best beaches in Europe you can be sure to find Greece ranked very highly indeed. The best place to enjoy the beaches are the islands, each island having its own unique character makes the beaches even better. You’ll find some have the most beautiful clear waters and others with crystal blue. Then you’ll also discover some beaches have lovely soft soft and some littered with pebbles and small seashells. The best thing I can tell you is to explore, venture off away from the crowds and find your own little private secluded beach. Don’t forget to pack some of the amazing food and wine in your backpack for the perfect day out.
It’s Location
Greece is perfectly places in the between both Europe and Asia. So that means us travellers can hop on a ferry and be in Paris within a few hours or somewhere like Turkey in under an hour. The ferries run regularly throughout the day, with most leaving from Piraeus which is the main port of Athens.
