When I was younger, I went on a life-changing mission trip to Mexico that taught me to be forever grateful for everything I have. I know that everyone would benefit from such an eye-opening experience. I just learned about an opportunity that will give another young person the chance to go on a volunteer trip in Kenya, so I wanted to share the details.
TakePart, a social action network, has launched World Changers 2012, a youth initiative that inspires and encourages young adults to “see and serve” in their local and global communities. They’re hoping to increase civic engagement within young adults and lower the barrier to entry for youth involvement in exploring the world and shaping it for the better.
To kick things off, TakePart along with MetoWe.com is giving young adults between 18-22 the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime, three-week volunteer adventure in Kenya.
The prize:
- Round-trip airfare to Nairobi
- Accommodation and three meals daily
- Cultural immersion including a full-day safari adventure, Swahili lessons, environmental walks
- Facilitated volunteer experiences such as building schools, teaching local children, and planting shade trees
Eligibility:
You must be a United States resident between the ages of 18-22.
