Water Sports to enjoy in Dubai

Dubai isn’t just about amazing architecture, food and shopping, there really is more to it than that. I really love to head there as often as I can and one of my favourite things to do is to get out on the open water and enjoy some watersports or head out onto a catamaran Dubai. There is nothing quite like enjoying these unique experiences in a truly unique place, so I have decided to dedicate this article to some of my favourite pastimes here.

With the amazing coastline stretching around 50 kilometers, Dubai has many options for watersports. I hope you enjoy reading about it as much as I love visiting this great city and enjoying all the adventure

Sailing

There is nothing quite like sailing as the sun rises and enjoying the beautiful sights of the city of Dubai. There’s so much to see and many places to stop. My most favourite thing to do is to simply sail the coast and take in all the sights and sounds. You will without a doubt notice the Burj al Arab and it is absolutely beautiful to sit on the deck of your boat and enjoy an amazing meal or something to drink as you soak up an experience that you won’t soon forget. Catamarans are also a great way to enjoy some sailing, but with a more stable feel and much more room to sit around and enjoy the sights. Whether it’s sunrise or sunset, you won’t forget sailing in Dubai.

Jet skiing

Heading out on a jet ski in the heat of the day is a great experience and is perfect for the adventure junky. I love the thrill of being on the open water, whilst feeling all the bumps and rushes of the water beneath you. You can make this as intense and exciting as you want or you can opt to take a tour with the jetski instead. There are many options for guided tours, so you can leisurely cruise across the water if that’s more of your thing.

Seabreaching

Seabreaching is also a must try. You might be asking yourself what is that exactly. Sea breaching is riding in a submarine watercraft that generally has the shape of a shark or a large fish. You can travel under the water, just as a submarine would, but the point is not to be discrete. Here you can “breach” and exit the water at high speeds, just as whales do. It’s possible to go under the water for short periods of times and experience life just as a fish would.

Seabreachers are able to travel at around 80km/h on the water and around 30-40km per hour underwater. This is truly exhilarating and is unlike any other kind of watersport around. If you prefer to keep your head above the water, there is also flyboarding to try too.

Scuba diving

Scuba diving has to be one of my favourite watersports in Dubai. Here there are opportunities to get your diving certificate. You can enjoy discovering the 65 plus thousand creatures in the aquarium at Atlantis at the Palm. It truly is a fascinating experience and one that you really wouldn’t expect in Dubai at all. If you are looking to be more daring, you can head out to the Dubai Aquarium and get up close and personal with sharks. Not to fear though, you will be well protected by your cage.
