Travel Essentials

I have been fortunate enough to have travelled the world for many years now, it’s been a fantastic experience but it has taught me many lessons.

When planning the perfect trip you need to remember that for it to go without a hiccup, it’s not just the flights and accommodation which you need to remember. I think we all have at least one tale to tell about how we turned up at the airport and had to turn around because we’d forgotten something important.

Here are 3 travel essentials that you simply can’t afford to forget.

Passport

This should always be top of the list. Even though we know it’s an essential there’s always a time when we manage to forget the passports! I always have them packed the night before in my backpack with all the other documents. Another key thing to remember is that it needs to be valid for more than six months from your time of departure.

Visa

Visas can be tricky sometimes so make sure you call the consulate or embassy of the country you’re going to visit. They’ll give you all the essential info you need so you don’t make any mistakes. I never leave the visa part to chance, I recently used Travelvisapro.com for our latest trip – they made everything so simple and straightforward. Always use an agency if you want a stress free visa application.

Insurance

You would be shocked by how many people decide not to travel with insurance. I think it’s insane to travel without insurance. If you have any type of accident you will have to pay out of your own pocket for the treatment. If you are very unfortunate and have a serious problem then your costs could be thousands of dollars, so don’t take a chance and make sure you and all of your group are covered. It isn’t too expensive and it’s always better to be safe than sorry, plus in debt to the medical services!

What travel essentials do you always make sure you have with you? Do you have any tales to tell about how a trip was ruined because you’d forgot one of the above 3? I would love to hear all about your stories, experiences and tips. All you have to do is pop everything in the comment section below, I am really looking forward to reading what you have to share.
