Spanish Style in Fashionable Madrid

I learned about the company Boticca a few months ago and fell in love. I’m currently on a trip in Costa Rica, so the company provided me with this hip guest post to run in my absence. They didn’t pay me for it–I truly think they have a cool concept, and I am so envious of their Style Hunters’ jobs! Enjoy!

Set up in 2009, Boticca.com is an inspirational curated online marketplace where independent jewelry and fashion accessory designers can showcase and sell their collections to an international customer base. Boticca champions the designers themselves and helps them establish their livelihoods, and its Style Hunters even travel the world meeting new designers and seeking out fresh new designs.

One of the last places the Style Hunters visited was Madrid, and they took the trouble to record where some of the coolest little indie shops and unique boutiques, selling the most beautiful handmade jewelry and fashion accessories were.

And it’s even been translated into a Madrid shopping map (below)! Make sure you check these hidden gems out next time you visit Madrid – and take a visit to Boticca, where there really is some incredible stuff on there from designers located all over the world.

Guk – Loreto Y Chicote 2
This stunning boutique is hidden away in the up and coming triBall area. The shop is really unique and there’s something for everyone. Not only do they sell some amazing fashion pieces but they are also purveyors of one off fashion accessories, handmade jewelery and restored furniture. The style of the store is of a Scandinavian persuasion and owners describe themselves as a window to the Nordic culture.

Oak  – Belen 7
Oak is a sophisticated fashion store featuring some up-and-coming Spanish designers. There’s apparel and accessories for both men and women. The space inside is airy and light and feels more like a gallery than a shop where items are placed like works of art on the shop’s walls. This little boutique is a must-see while in its nascent form; it just may get a lot bigger in the coming years.

Silk – Calle Lequerica 17
Silk is a real jewelery lover’s treasure trove. All of their unique and bespoke pieces are hand crafted one-of-a-kinds. Silk features some increasingly famous designers such as ifat creations, who sell their jewelery of handmade murano glass, pure linen and waxed cotton thread on other quality jewelery sites such as Boticca, meaning you can get your hands on a touch of Madrid anywhere in the world.

Mott – Calle Barquillo 31
For your ultimate accessory experience, visit chic fashion boutique: Mott. There are a mix of designers on offer from exquisite classic motifs to funk and retro. Every item is handpicked by the shop owners and vetted at a very high standard, meaning only the highest quality items are on offer. Highlights include an eclectic collection of jewelery, shoes, scarves and bags.
