I took this photo of a man on stilts in the San Lorenzo Market in Florence, Italy. In this large market just a few minutes from the Duomo, you can find leather goods, pashminas, handbags, ties, shoes, handmade gifts, and more. There are many designer brand knockoffs. The colorful and vibrant market is incredibly busy, with hundreds of tourists pouring in and out of the narrow aisles. You can also find entertainers, such as this man, milling about. Many of the merchants are willing to barter with you. Just be sure to keep an eye on your belongings, as this type of crowded environment is a pickpocket’s dream!
