Malaga is famous for its stunning seaside location. People who love fresh seafood will really be spoiled for choice with the range of terrific dishes that are just waiting to be sampled. Malaga is one of our favourite destinations here at Holiday Taxis, so here is a selection of Malaga’s best seafront restaurants.
Andrés Maricuchi
This is without doubt one of the most popular seafood restaurants in the whole of Malaga. Not only does it offer an excellent range of fresh seafood dishes, the ocean view that diners are treated to is also absolutely stunning. This restaurant is very popular with local people and tends to get rather noisy in the evenings, but it is worth taking your place amongst the throngs of hungry diners to enjoy authentic dishes at very reasonable prices. Andrés Maricuchi can be found at Paseo Marítimo del Pedregal.
Hermanos Muñoz
If you hunger for the taste of fresh fried sardines, this Paseo Marítimo del Pedregal establishment is the place for you. The head honcho here is Bernardo, who has been frying up sardine for several decades and has perfected his technique over the years. Calamares a la caña is another signature dish that is sure to make your taste buds sing, while the beach front location is unbeatable.
El Caleño
This restaurant is a real family affair and the seafood dishes here have been satisfying hungry diners since 1987. While the prices are a little higher than some of the other local establishments, El Caleño offers a very cosy setting, making this the perfect place for a romantic meal for two while gazing out at the ocean.
El Lirio
This has to be one of the cheapest fish restaurants around and diners who have a strong sense of adventure will find a large number of dishes that are just waiting to be sampled. While you could chose to play it safe and enjoy one of the regular fish dishes, additions such as fish soups and the signature dish arroz caldoso con boquerones are really worth writing home about. Make sure you check out El Liro if you are in Paseo Marítimo.
El Tintero II
With its unique atmosphere, this restaurant has become a local institution over the years. People who are struggling with the Spanish language will find that there is no language barrier at El Tintero II. Waiters proudly carry huge platters laden with fish dishes and salad, and all you need to do is point to the dish that you want to try. The price for each dish is surprisingly low, making this one of the best places for fish loving holiday makers to eat at in the Playa del Dedo area.
Hermanos Gutiérrez
Despite offering some of the freshest and tastiest fish dishes in the whole of Paseo Marítimo, this restaurant has yet to be discovered by tourists. This helps to keep prices down, while also ensuring that you will be able to secure your place at one of the tables.
Pimpi Florida
For people who dislike crowded spaces, eating at Pimpi Florida might be a bit of an endurance test. However, as soon as you sample the dishes you will forget all about your discomfort and understand why this Carretera de Almería restaurant is so popular.
