I’m very excited to be writing my first blog post on Maiden Voyage. This blog has been an idea of mine for quite some time now, but I’m thrilled that I finally decided to make it a reality.
I’m not new to blogging. I have blogged for two years for a personal finance website. I spent several months blogging for a website that prepares high school students for college. I have blogged for a health and fitness site and I blog for About.com Austin. I also freelance for several website sand magazines. While all of this has been great fun, I never feel like I get to write enough about travel. I have strongly desired a blog of my own and I don’t have many passions greater than travel, so what could be more perfect than starting my own travel blog?
I daydream of travel every day. My calendar revolves around when I get to travel next. I talk constantly about where I’ve been and where I want to go. My desktop calendar is “1,000 Places to See Before You Die.” I am starting to worry that I am driving my friends and family crazy, so I thought it would be a great idea to start a blog where I can talk about travel all I want. I have also been inspired by so many travel bloggers, such as Gary at Everything Everywhere and Nomadic Matt, and I wanted to join in on the fun. I also think it’s important to discuss travel for people in their 20s; we are at the prime time of our lives to travel, but most of us are not making much money. I’m here to help you navigate this conundrum.
This new blog will be an adventure for me, and I hope for you, too.
