Many people like to go up the Empire State Building to get their view of the City from Brooklyn to the Bronx. Central Park
This is one of the best ways to spend a day in the City. While it is a very popular destination, you will be able to find some piece and quiet as Central Park isn’t your typical park and is quite massive. You can find all kinds of street performers and street artists to see some of the best and most underrated talent in the world. Central Park also hosts concerts so when you’re in town take a look to see what their concert series looks like for the season. There is also the Central Park Zoo and a nice lake that you can spend the day in a paddle boat on.
Times Square
Maybe the most hectic spot you will ever go into. But this is what the people come to see. Times Square is a great place to see just to check off the bucket list. There are plenty of options for food, drink, and shopping in this area. This is also a great place to find some deals and other activities to do later in the day. Often there are people selling deals to comedy shows and the like on the side of the street. Be prepared to haggle though so you can get the best deal.
Take A River Cruise
There are plenty of options to take a day or night time boat tour of the hudson. Circle line sightseeing cruises can give you the best and most famous view of New York City. Will you will be able to see the world famous skyline, the Statue of Liberty, the new Freedom Towers, and the George Washington Bridge. Boat tours are nice because they get you away from the constant movement, hustle, and overcrowded nature of New York City.
See A Broadway Play
Play writes and performers alike always aim to take their careers to New York City for one reason, Broadway. The bright lights and shows keep people entertained every day of the week. You can see classic shows such as Chicago and Wicked or soon to be classics like Jersey Boys and the Book of Mormon. Go to Times Square in the early afternoon and there is a half price ticket booth for matinee shows. This can be a great way to save money and not sacrifice quality.
