If we want to head off on a holiday it usually starts off with a flight. To make sure that you get the best deal possible, here are some pro tips on how to grab the best deals out there. I usually head over to Webjet and use these awesome flight hacks.
Book Up Early With Asian Airlines
Most of the big airlines get their bookings from local passengers, this is most true with the airlines in east Asia. Their prices will be related to the dates of national holidays in Asia – so this means it’s perfect if you’re looking to travel during western holidays (christmas or easter) you will find very cheap flights. Check them out before you confirm any other flight bookings!
Charter Flights For Last-Minute Deals
You will find the best deals on charter airlines if you’re looking to get a last minute flight. Nearly every airline will put their prices up a week or two until departure time, that’s because they know people booking last minute won’t be overly worried about budget – business travel and emergencies are two such cases. If you’re in the UK you are lucky because there are two charter airlines you can choose from there for lower last minute prices.
Check Out Flash Sales
One of the main things that impacts on flight prices is timing. Prices can fluctuate massively on every route around the world. When I book a flight to Bangkok, depending on the time of the year the price can be £350 or £650, so you have to be careful when you travel. Airlines hold flash sales every year, they come unannounced but you can pick up some great deals. The airlines release tickets for sale eleven months in advance and they have a rough idea how much they will sell, if by a certain time they haven’t sold the predicted amount they will release tickets in a flash sale to make sure they sell.
Book One Way Flights When Going West
The general rule it to avoid one way tickets when you’re heading east of the UK and if you’re flying west grab them whenever you can. The airline business is changing and we now have plenty of companies, such as Norwegian, offering long haul flights at budget prices. The reason you can get cheap one way tickets is due to the fact that these budget airlines don’t add a surcharge to their prices. So if you’re heading to New York and don’t know your return date or airport then just book a single ticket with a budget airline.
