Toronto Fashion Week
October 19 to 24
Are you interested in Canada’s thriving fashion industry? World Mastercard Fashion Week will be held in Toronto this October and will put Canadian fashion labels in the spotlight, along with some fresh new talent from the sartorial world. This is one of the biggest recurring fashion events Canada (and the rest of the world) has to offer and its runway shows will showcase some of the best new designs for the coming Spring 2016 season.
Nora Jones
November 4
Nora Jones will bring her honey coated tones to the Rama Casino in November. She’ll be singing some of her greatest hits, including “Don’t Know Why”, “Come Away With Me” and “Sunrise”. The show will start at 8pm and fans can expect to pay around $49 for the pleasure of an evening with Nora.
Scotiabank Nuit Blanche
October 3
For art lovers and culture vultures, this festival will transform the streets and parks of Toronto into art spaces with exhibitions, performances and creative events. This annual event is for one night only and is a great chance to explore Toronto’s neighbourhoods and artistic talent. This year will be the 10th anniversary of the event, which is entirely free.
International Festival of Authors
October 22 to November 1
Are you a bookworm or a budding writer? If so, this festival is sure to please you. The International Festival of Authors will draw some of the best international writers, playwrights, short story writers and poets to Toronto to present their work. Canadian writers will also have an opportunity to show their work alongside renowned authors from all over the world during the 11 day event. Writers that have featured in past events include Stephen King, Douglas Coupland and Margaret Atwood.

With the Ice Hockey season rolling round once more at the beginning of October, you would be mad not to head to the Air Canada Centre to see the likes of Phil Kessel, Tyler Bozak and Joffrey Lupol take to the ice in a bid to win the Stanley Cup. Ice Hockey is synonymous with Canadian culture, with several other teams such as Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks adding serious firepower to the National Hockey League (commonly known as the NFL). The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair
November 7 to 16
Featuring the Royal Horse Show, dog shows and even top local chefs, this agricultural show draws many visitors to Toronto every year, and offers fun for all the family. Whether you’re into food, lifestyle or farming, there is a lot on offer at this 9 day event which includes over 300 different vendors and some unique shopping opportunities. The Royal Fair is a great Canadian tradition and has been running since 1922. This year it will celebrate its 90th anniversary and is set to be the biggest of event to date.
