Camping, it seems has undergone a bit of a makeover in recent years. The traditionalists will argue that for a ‘real’ camping holiday you have to squeeze yourself into your lightweight, portable two man tent and do your cooking on a single ring gas burner. However, many people are now choosing a slightly more luxurious experience and are opting to go ‘glamping’
Glamping, or glamorous camping is a slightly more up market version of camping. From Mongolian yurts, tree-houses, Native American tee-pees, luxury tents and specially designed pods, the possibilities for a unique experience are endless.
One such place situated in the heart of the countryside to offer you an alternative camping experience is Perran Springs campsite in Cornwall. Close to the main towns of Truro and the ever popular Newquay beach, it makes an ideal base for you to explore the beautiful Cornish countryside, or you can take in the breathtaking scenery of the wonderful twenty one acres of valley the site sits in. The holiday park is also very close to Perranporth beach, around one and a half miles away. Perran Springs currently offers two glamping experiences for you to choose from, Glamping Super Eurotents, and new for 2015, Glamping Pods.
Super Eurotents
The Eurotents are very spacious and can sleep up to six people in three individual double bedrooms and feel more like an apartment than a tent. All the tents are fully equipped with all the things you are going to need including double ringed gas cookers, fridges, microwaves, kettles and even toasters. They also have a fixed floor so there will be no wobbling about on uneven surfaces while you are trying to cook or eat your dinner on the tables and chairs that are also included. Kitchenware is also provided.
Glamping Pods
This new addition to the site opening in July 2015 offers couples the opportunity to enjoy a wonderfully relaxing space in which to enjoy each others company. Superbly wooden crafted and fully insulated, they come with their own electricity supply, colour television and kettle. All you need to bring is essential camping equipment, including your inflatable airbed. There is also parking space for one car.
As well as the options for ‘glamping’, the camp also has all of the usual amenities expected of a top quality holiday park including luxury shower blocks, camp shop, laundry and washing up facilities with hot water. The park also boasts some fantastic nature trails, and for the fishermen amongst you, three large fully stocked lakes. You can find Perran Springs Holiday Park at:
