Battery Point is one of the oldest areas in town and is named after the Mulgrave gun battery built on the southern part of the Hobart suburb. The Cascade Brewery
Drive to The Cascade Brewery, Australia’s oldest one, for an insightful tour about its history, understanding how beer is made, some tasting and a chance to explore the exquisite gardens nearby. This attraction is extremely family friendly, making it worth a visit even if you are traveling with kids.
Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary
While the Tasmanian Tiger may be extinct, this part of the world is home to some of the most unique animal life. One cannot visit Hobart and miss a chance to spot the iconic Tasmanian Devil in its natural habitat. The Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a number of protected devils as well as a variety of native birds, wombats, possums, quolls, koalas and more. A trip to this sanctuary is an excellent plan when you are traveling to Tasmania with kids.
