There are many markets, or bazaars, throughout Jerusalem and on a Thursday night the Machane Yehuda open-air shuk opens up, offering one of the best places to enjoy the Jerusalem nightlife. The market is the perfect representation of what Jerusalem is, which is of course diversity. Here in the market you can shop for cross jewelry, religious trinkets, memorable souvenirs there is also quite the mezuzah selection to choose from, as well as finding food stalls and art sellers on the many stalls. There is plenty of live music on and places to relax and enjoy a cocktail in the open-air, delightful.
City Views in Gethsemane
The Mount of Olives was once the center of this ancient town and this is why each year there are tens of thousands of Christians and Jews from around the world who will make the pilgrimage to this important site. For the tourist it offers the chance to walk on sacred ground which is where Jesus Christ was arrested ahead of his crucifixion, as well as offering up some of the finest views of the city below.
Church of the Holy Sepulchre
Quite possibly thee most important site in the Christian world, here in Jerusalem’s Old City you will find the Church of the Holy Sepulchre which is where Jesus Christ is believed to have been crucified, and it is also where he was placed in the tomb before rising again. City of David National Park
Not too far from the Wailing Wall you will find the City of David National Park where you can take tours throughout the famous tunnels. In Biblical times these tunnels would be used to bring water to the city from the Gihon Spring. Within the park you will also find Mount Zion which features David’s tomb, as well as the Tower of David which is now a museum dedicated to the history of Jerusalem.
