We’re off to sunny Spain!

Most people in the UK with a passport have been to Spain, and it still remains a hugely popular country to visit for a good old summer jaunt. With so many resorts to choose from, it’s hard to narrow them down, however Lloret de Mar is one that remains high up on the top destinations list.

Perfectly situated close to the bustling and cosmopolitan city of Barcelona, this lively resort has so much to offer, and a great opportunity to explore even further. I’d highly recommend venturing into Barcelona for the day, to hit the shops, and explore the history and architecture of this iconic Spanish city.

Flights are regular and cheap from the UK, meaning a bargain break is certainly on the cards. Save even more Euros to spend in resort by pre-booking airport parking, and cut out the need for those expensive airport taxis. Newcastle Airport parking offers a world of convenience and means a stress-less start to your sunshine break. I’d highly recommend it, and having tried it for the first time a few years ago, I’ve been hooked ever since. If you’re flying out of the north-west, check out Manchester Airport parking for great deals.

Once you’re in resort, the first place I’d be heading to would be the beach, and there are several to choose from, including the main beach. You’ll find restaurants and bars around for refreshments, and lots of water-sports to try. I’d highly recommend giving them a go, especially an adrenaline-fuelled ride on the jet-ski!

I love a day’s retail therapy, and any holiday of mine includes plenty! The weekly Tuesday market is a great opportunity to pick up some bargains, and some authentic souvenirs for loved ones back home. A great use for those saved Euros!

When the moon comes out, the action turns up a notch, and night-life in Lloret de Mar is certainly bright and lively! You’ll find plenty of choice of bars and clubs, as well as offers on drinks to save even more cash.

Before you hit the bright lights however, I’d recommend lining your stomach, and you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you’re missing the comforts of home, you’ll find many British dishes on most menus, but I’d suggest trying some authentic food, including the famous paella. Go on, be brave!

Spanish sunshine holidays have been the main staple of British holidaymakers’ summer plans for years, and shows no signs of slowing. Lloret de Mar is a great choice of destination, with a wide range of activities for everyone, and enough bright, colourful night-life for those that want it.

If you have an early flight, I’d suggest pre-booking an airport hotel prior to flying, taking the bleary-eyes out of travel and meaning a fresh start. Most airports offer a range of hotels on site, so do a little research. If you’re flying out of Dublin, check out the huge range of Dublin Airport hotels, available at great rates. A rested start to any holiday is a good one!

Sunny Spain? Oh, go on then …
