The time has come to plan your travelling itinerary for 2017. Your vacation is the most important time of the year as it is the time to relax, recharge, and refocus your priorities.  Taking a trip that goes to a few different places is a great way to do this.  These four gems offer up a fascinating blend of culture, history, and nature at its best.

The Swiss Alps

If you are looking for an outdoor vacation the Swiss Alps are the perfect place to go for summer hiking or winter skiing.  It has stunning scenery like high peaks, plunging valleys, and calm, crystal clear emerald coloured lakes.  This world famous mountain range is easily accessible by cog train, cable cars, and funiculars.   The Jungfrau Region is 137 km from Zurich and the train ride there is full of scenery that is sure to impress.  The Matterhorn is the on the Italian border and it is a stunning peak that is 4478 metres tall.  Be sure to try Cheese Fondue and Swiss Chocolates after a day of burning lots of calories.

The Bahamas

The Bahamas are a group of over seven hundred islands in the beautiful turquoise Atlantic Ocean.  It is known as a tropical paradise and there are plenty of things for you to do and see.  Grand Bahama, and Paradise Island are two of the most popular islands and they are known for their fabulous beach resorts, incredible villas and large hotels.  Nassau is the capital city and you can reach it by a bridge from Paradise Island. Nassau is a charming mix of fabulous beaches, hilly landscape and pale coloured buildings left over from colonial times.   If you are interested in diving head to Andros Barrier Reef, Thunderball Grotto , and the black-coral gardens off Bimini .

 Corsica, France

Corsica is a French island in the Mediterranean that has a distinctly Italian culture.  It is a mountainous region that is known for its fabulous hiking trails including the world famous GR20.  There are fabulous beaches to relax on like the busy Pietracorbara where you can people watch all day long.  There are also remote beaches like Rondinara and Saleccia if you are looking for a more private setting.  You can stay in a hotel or rent an apartment or villa and experience the life in this diamond in the rough.

Amsterdam, Holland

Amsterdam is the capital city of Holland and it is built on a series of canals connected by bridges.  When you arrive in Amsterdam in your airport taxi you will see unique architecture, beautiful walking and cycling paths, and world-class sites. You can rent a bicycle and traverse this flat city easily.   It is the home of the Van Gogh museum that houses hundreds of Vincent Van Gogh’s best work. Make sure you visit Peace Palace to see the countries parliament buildings as well as the United Nations International Court of Justice, The Hague.  As there is so much to see and do in Amsterdam, you should rent a bicycle to get about on.
