Daniel -- thanks for the clarification! That's great that customers can preview the content first.

Thanks to the rest of you for chiming in, as well! I do think it's a really cool way to earn some cash from your old books.

Great introduction to an online travel bookstore that I didn't know existed! I like the options available to search by category, destination, length & type of trip, etc. The ability to self-publish is very cool too. I think GuideGecko is a great option to locate hard to find travel books. I will definately consider them in the future both as a seller and a buyer. Thanks for the article.

Very interesting! I knew that authors could sell through GuideGecko, but didn't know we could sell old travel guides on there. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Emily,

Thanks for the article. Just wanted to clarify your point about "casual" writers and the independent guides they offer on GuideGecko: We offer preview pages for such guides, so that customers can easily see what they get before making a purchase. We also have ratings and reviews to get a "second opinion". All together, I think that customers can pretty well assess the quality of the guides before they buy.

Cheers,
Daniel
