The Gen Y Travel Blog Carnival
The basics
The Gen Y Travel Blog Carnival celebrates travel for 20somethings and 30sometimes, and shows off the best travel-related content produced in the blogosphere by this generation. At the end of each month, bloggers submit their favorite post they have written in the past month. The carnival host will screen the entries and publish a list of the best. By default it is hosted on Maiden Voyage, but sometimes other travel bloggers host if they would like to.
Submission guidelines
- You must have a travel blog.
- Submit your entry here each month. Entries are due on the last day of each month.
- Please only submit one entry each month. Pick your very best! Any travel-related topic is fine.
- The post you submit must have been published within the past month (so if the deadline is July 31, the post needed to be published in July).
- If your post is accepted in the carnival, you must let your readers know with a link back, Tweet, and/or Stumble.
The host decides which submissions will be included. As long as a post is well-written, on a travel blog, from the past month, and not spammy, it will likely be included. If your entry was not selected, please don’t be offended–reread the guidelines and and try again the next time.
Why another blog carnival?
I have been blogging for CreditCards.com well over two years, and one of the best methods I have found for connecting with other bloggers and new readers is blog carnivals. The Carnival of Personal Finance has become massive over the past few years and has helped the personal finance blogosphere become very tight. It helps blogs gain new readers, get on other travel bloggers’ radars, and receive good links.
I have been searching for carnivals in the travel blog space like this, but nearly everything I have found is inactive or quite niche. I wanted to start a travel carnival that anyone in the 20something/30something travel set can participate in, so I launched the Gen Y Travel Carnival.

Awesome – I’ll gladly be an early host!
I started the Carnival of Real Estate back in 2006 and it was an awesome way to connect with other bloggers in a given niche. If you have questions about administering a carnival, just let me know.
Submitted! Thanks for the Twitter DM!
