Going on a Travel Date in Manhattan's Central Park

Central Park is one of New York’s most famous landmarks and there have been countless romantic movies that have been shot in several spots inside the park simply because of its beautiful and romantic ambiance. We’ve seen When Harry Met Sally, Serendipity, Enchanted, and so many other romantic movies with Central Park as their background for their love story to unfold, so why not have your very own movie-like date in this beautiful park in the center of Manhattan yourself?

For couples who are travelling, or travellers who wish to end up as a couple, Central Park can be one of the most romantic places you can have a date in. This 843 acre park holds so many venues that are perfect for spending quality time with your significant other and whether you have a simple day at the park or a grand and extravagant night, you and your partner are sure to have an amazing time together.

1. Horse and Carriage ride
Nothing can possibly get more romantic than a horse and carriage ride under the stars with just a bottle of champagne with your significant other amidst the beautiful ambiance of Central Park. This is a perfect way for couples to just isolate themselves from the hustle and bustle of busy Manhattan after a long day of sightseeing and just cuddle up and relax.

2. Ice-Skating
If you’re travelling in New York during winter time, then Ice Skating is one way to have a fun yet still very romantic activity that you can do inside Central Park. You can enjoy the rink while looking out into the beautiful New York skyline.

3. Rowboat Ride
Another romantic date you can do while you’re on vacation in New York is to rent a rowboat in the Central Park Lake to have some quality alone time with your lover while admiring the beautiful scenery of the park from a different perspective. It’s also a great way to enjoy the sun and just sit back and relax and allow the lake’s calm current float you along.

4. Picnic
There are so many great picnic spots that you can choose from in the vast grounds of Central Park. Regardless of which area you choose, as long as you have your packed meals, a comfortable blanket to lay on, and your loved one with you, this is one of the best and cheapest ways to have a great date in New York as you go people-watching with all the various groups of people enjoying their time in the park as well.

5. Stroll Around
At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter where you are as long as you’re with the person you love and everything can still feel romantic and perfect. But of course, if you’re in New York for a vacation anyway, why not enjoy the company of your love while simply strolling around the beautiful and breathtaking park in each other’s arms.

I'm Phoebe, a writer who lives in the bustling city of Manila in the Philippines. Apart from staying in this archipelagic country with various interesting beaches, mountains and plains, hey,I still want to travel the world. I was lucky to visit a few Asian countries. I found the (very!) best egg tarts I've ever tasted in Jordan, Kowloon; fell truly in-love with Thailand's serenity and Phuket's seascape; visited Singapore three times and finding out new interesting places each time; and flew at 72 meters above sea level in Sentosa's Zipline. With these few trips, it fueled me to achieve more travels in the next few years. I dreamt to travel farther and wider across the globe, with the promise of setting foot on Paris before I die. I'm not afraid to travel alone. And I'm not afraid to get lost, that is part of the journey. I can walk all day and night exploring the city, the culture and relish the different delicacies. With travelling, there is much languages to learn, cultures to understand, people to know, and I am ready for that. These all shows the risk-taker in me. Apart from jumping to different places, I love to work and to write (wherein working and writing does not make any difference to me). I take opportunities as they come, with the fear that it will never come again. With that said, I am very eager to take part on each of your journeys and share whatever experiences and knowledge I have to help each of you (our readers) have a trip that you cannot forget. Cheers!
