Get scared at the Mansion of Terror

Get scared at the Mansion of Terror

Do you love to get scared? One of the most acclaimed haunted houses in the country — Mansion of Terror — is the place to go if you want to be terrified this Halloween season.

Mansion of Terror is in Austin, Texas and has been ranked the top 8th haunted house in the U.S. by The Travel Channel. The haunted house has also currently rated #1 in the country by Lionsgate Films (maker of SAW, GAMER, A HAUNTING). Whether you live in Austin or just want an excuse to travel to the live music capital of the world, you should be sure to come get spooked here. The city takes Halloween very seriously!

The massive haunted house is actually broken up into two separate haunted houses; this year, one of them puts you in an insane asylum with infected zombies, and the other places you in the decaying home of a serial killer. The haunted house is already open and will remain so through Nov. 13.

To win a pair of free tickets to both of Mansion of Terror’s haunted houses (worth $20 each), leave a comment below and tell me your most creative Halloween costume idea. Leave a comment by Saturday Oct. 17 at midnight CST and one of the Mansion of Terror zombies and I will choose the winner, who will be notified via email.

What I lack in creative Halloween costuming, I make up for in the love of haunted houses! Past Halloween costumes have included Scully from X-Files and Mary Tyler Moore.

Every year I want to go to a Halloween haunted house but everyone chickens out on me. Lol. My creative idea is kinda old school but I love the 80′s. So I like the idea of dressing up as e.t. with a box of Reese’s pieces. Happy Halloween everyone!

When my kids were young we dressed up as a family in different themes (my daughter being the eldest and able to verbalize, usually got to choose). Themes included:

Wizard of Oz
Beauty and the Beast
Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Aladdin

I can explain more in detail if you like but I suually was the one who had to wear the face makeup!

This year I have ordered the life-sized Predator Costume. It includes the full suit, mask, neck collar, dreads, all the armor, hands, feet and full body skin. I am going to wear a necklace with skulls and carry a big spear. Predator and all the alien Vs. Predator movies are my FAV! Best part about this costume is I am a 23 year old GIRL!!! It should be fun!

I don’t know how creative it is, but I’m excited that there is actually a popular character that I can be for Halloween this year. This year I’ll be Uhura from Star Trek and my boyfriend is Spock. It works perfectly for us and I don’t have to wear the fake ears!

Halloween is our one day to really express wildest ideas. My ideas are great for couples or going solo but you could be: a nicely wrapped package and then write est. $789 billion across yourself = Stimulus Package, Ash (aka Bruce Campbell), Harold and Kumar, Howard the Duck and Beverly (aka Lea Thompson) , Sarah Palin holding her 2 weeks notice, any character from Baywatch and finally wishing he makes a speedy recovery “Leslie”. So we can know his spirit is all around us. Peace.
