How to get the best deal on your flights!

Now that the chill of winter is well and truly upon us I am sure that many of you are feeling like me and dreaming of sunshine! It’s time to start thinking about where we are going to be sunning ourselves next year! Nothing beats a beach holiday; strolling along a sandy beach, soaking up the sun, sipping on a cocktail is sure to make the hustle and bustle of home seem a million miles away.

I often get asked how I manage to travel so much and more importantly how I always seem to hunt out the best air deals that are available. Well it really is quite simple – either you use a reputable company who will do all the work for you or you follow some simple tips to do it yourself.

I took the time to list down some fantastic pointers that are sure to help you find cheap flights which will leave you more money to spend whilst you’re on holiday!

Don’t leave it too late

You should always make an effort to check the airfares early and often. Airfares can fluctuate from day to day, so the best idea is to check the prices as soon as you can, then keep an eye on them to see if they drop. Remember that you shouldn’t be afraid to book when you see a great price because the next day it could be gone!

Choose the right days

It is a little known fact that some days are cheaper to travel on than others. Fridays and Saturdays are usually the most expensive days to travel on, you will see a big difference in the price if you travel on a tuesday or wednesday. So try to travel during the week if you can and you will find that you can make a huge saving.

Be flexible

Being flexible will always save you money, that is a fact! If you can be flexible about the dates you travel, the destination and even the airport you fly from then you are certainly going to save money. Being flexible means that you can avoid travel at high peak times during holidays. It also means that you can take a look at flights over a two month period and select the cheapest dates to travel. If you are prepared to travel a little further to your departure airport then you can find savings also, take a look on the search engines at the difference in price from airport to airport.
