Forest Fun In The UK

Autumn is the perfect time to start planning a trip in the great outdoors of the UK. It’s when the forests are at their magnificent best and most beautiful. It’s a great bay to keep the kids active and have a day out, or even short break, with the family.

You might be aware of some great woods nearby where you live but if you’re looking for a short break away then you need to be in the know about where the best woods are to visit. I’ve put together a list of the most fantastic three forests that are fun for all the family!

Crinan Wood

This forest is located on the vest coast of Scotland. The best time to visit is when the weather is stormy because you vill be able to hear the natural sounds coming from the famous Corryvreckan whirlpool that is just a few miles away out at sea. It’s famed for being he closest the country has to a rainforest due to it’s warm and very moist climate.

Hucking Estate

This is one of the best places in Kent, the garden of England, where you can bask in the natural beauty of the countryside. This place is absolutely massive and that is because over 180,000 broad leave trees were planted at the end of the 1990s. At some points you will just find yourself standing there soaking up the breathtaking views that the historical Hucking Estate has to offer.

Forest of Dean

Possibly my favourite forest on the list, because I find it so easy to relax in the Forest of Dean. There are even cottages here which are absolutely ideal for an escape from the city life many of us lead. The place is alive with colour and wildlife, which means you’ll be treated to a fun filled break. If you like an active trip then you can always take advantage of the walks, riding or canoeing.

Which are your favourite woods to visit? I am sure that as a travel community we can compile one amazing list that will help everyone on their next outings! Just put your suggestions down in the comment section below. Excited to read and discover some hidden gems!
