Harrogate is famous for its options for high tea, it is certainly something that all visitors should try when they visit this famous city. The good news is that for those who fancy something stronger than tea there are plenty of options.
A lot of the watering holes in town offer great drinks, top-notch food and some even come with accommodation. The rooms in them are great and sometimes provide a place to find the best pet-friendly accommodation Harrogate has to offer. Hotels are always a great option of course, but any pub with its own guesthouse provides a different feel for your holiday.

Major Tom’s Social
Major Tom’s Social is hidden on top of a retro clothing and vintage record store. It’s a bar, cafe, pub and music venue, and it is probably one of the coolest things to ever have been created in Harrogate. If you love well-chosen beer then this is the place for you, they offer a changing collection of craft beers, ales and spirits. What is even more impressive is that the owner’s handpicked at least 4 guest beers to customers each month, they also put on a special cask beer each week – they pair the weekly selection with one of their delicious homemade pizzas.
The bottle menu is one that any connoisseur will love, it has around 100 beers from all over the globe. The variety is absolutely amazing and I guarantee that they’ll be so many on their that you’d never think of trying. Don’t worry if you’re not a pro because the staff are super knowledgeable and will be able to point you in the right direction. They pride themselves on helping their customers branch out and try new beers from around the globe.
The owners, Lee and Toby, have succeeded in creating an unbelievably laid back atmosphere, with brilliant beer, great food and even some retro games to enjoy. It’s the best bar in Harrogate and possibly one of the best bars I have ever visited on my travels around the globe!
