My uncle paid for a trip for myself and my sister to join the family in Mexico! It was actually a surprise for my parents! We had a great time and it was an amazing gift!

I always put money and gift cards for airlines on my Birthday & Christmas wish lists. And I know a lot of frequent flier programs will let you buy points/miles as a gift, though I’ve never tried that. The wedding registry is genius, just too bad I’m not getting married, or engaged
