Orangerie

This is a gallery that lives to please and has some stunning works to show, with some works from famed Frenchman Claude Monet. The gallery also has a subterranean part that was specially built for the works of Walter-Guillaume.

After you have finished in the gallery you can walk in the Tuileries gardens, where the gallery is located and you will be able to see the various statues and bronze sculptures that are scattered throughout.

Explore Paris’ abandoned stretch of abandoned railway

There is an abandoned stretch of railway known as the Petite Ceinture or little belt to those who don’t know French, and it lies right in the heart of Paris. This is an area that is great to walk in because it is has developed some definite signs of nature reclaiming the urban a manmade structure. there also thankfully no chance of encountering any actual trains.

This is a really great place that locals love to walk, particularly on a Sunday and you will be able to see street performers and artists during these popular times.

Piscine Josephine Baker

The Seine River is known for its romanticism, however it is not a place that you would like to swim in. The next best thing of course is the Paris Plage (beach) which is a manmade “beach”, but what about the swimming? Well Piscine Josephine Barker is a swimming pool built into an old barge that is permanently moored in the Seine, and offers visitors the experience of feeling like they are swimming in the Seine itself. There is no better activity for a hot Summers day in Paris!

Shakespeare and Company Bookshop

Reading is something that people like to do everywhere, so why not do it in Paris too? The Shakespeare and Company bookstore has a very long history in Paris and was even featured in Ernest Hemingway’s memoir.

It has an extensive list of second hand books for you to enjoy also. Paris is such a beautiful place, so pick up a book and go and read in your favourite cafe!
